EZ Child ID Program: Rapid Response to Missing Child Emergencies in Mercer County, WV

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Mercer County Moose Lodge 2718 have joined forces to implement the EZ Child ID program, a powerful tool designed to expedite the search and recovery of missing children. By providing parents and guardians with a comprehensive identification kit, this initiative empowers families to act quickly in a crisis, providing crucial information to law enforcement within moments.

EZ Child ID Kit Features:

  • Pre-Interview Form: Capture vital details like physical descriptions, distinguishing marks, and recent photos.
  • Video Recorded Interview: Preserve voice recognition information and provide a visual record of the child’s appearance and mannerisms.
  • Digital Fingerprints: Securely collect fingerprints for immediate comparison and identification purposes.
  • Photographs: Multiple photographs of the participant can be taken – front, left, and right face and the back of the head.
  • Medical ID: There is an option to record critical medical information, including blood type, medications, and emergency contacts.
  • Portable USB Drive: All collected data is compiled onto a USB drive, given to the parent, guardian, or custodian for immediate handover to authorities during an emergency.

Privacy Assurance

  • No Data Retention: Rest assured, all collected information is transferred solely to the parent/guardian and is NOT stored or retained by the program.
