The Records Division of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is the central repository for all official reports, documents, and records generated by our department. We strive to provide accurate and timely information to the public, law enforcement agencies, and other authorized entities.

Services Offered
Incident and Accident Reports:
- We maintain records of all incidents and accidents investigated by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
- Crash Reports: Access your crash report through our online portal or by visiting our office in person. (Link to crash report portal or Carfax for police crash docs: https://www.crashdocs.org/)
- Criminal Investigation Reports: Obtain copies of investigation reports for closed cases. Please note that reports for open investigations are not available to the public.
Fingerprinting:
- We offer fingerprinting services for employment, licensing, background checks, and other purposes. Please call to schedule an appointment.
Background Checks:
- We provide criminal history checks for individuals and businesses.
Other Records:
- We maintain a variety of other records, including arrest records, warrants, and civil process documents. Please contact us for more information.
Fee Schedule
- Accident / Crash Report Copy: $20.00
- Incident / Police Report Copy: $20.00
- VIN Check: $10.00
- Employment Finger Prints: $5.00 per card
Requesting Records
You can request records in person. Please be prepared to provide the following information:
- Your name and contact information
- The type of record you are requesting
- The date and location of the incident (if applicable)
- Any other relevant details that can help us locate the record
Processing Time
The processing time for records requests varies depending on the type of record and the volume of requests we are receiving. We will make every effort to process your request as quickly as possible.
- Crash Reports: Typically available within 7-10 business days.
- Criminal Investigation Reports: These may take longer to process, especially for complex cases.
Important Notes
- Open Investigations: Reports for open investigations are not available to the public.
- Confidentiality: Some records may be confidential and not available for release.
